I must confess, I do not like the Muppets. In fact, I actively avoid them. They kind of freak me out.
A lot of people have really really grand memories of them- but I don't. I remember being really scared by them. I must have just seen them at the perfect developmental time to leave a lasting negative impression. I have no specific reason that I can recall that cemented that perception in my head.
Really I have tried to give them a chance, I have tried to watch them. But I cannot get past the mental block. I just get really uncomfortable.
Fraggle Rock is the same- lots of people my age love it- I avoid it. Something about the giant monsters living on the other side of the cave thingy- just freaks me out.
Are there any children's shows that just don't sit well with you?

I adore the Muppets and Fraggle Rock. What I can't handle is Disney princess movies and anything Dora the Explorer, and Sponge Bob. I hate the cutesy and I-need-someone-to-save-me nature of Disney. As for Dora and Sponge Bob, it's just a combo of stupidity and in-your-face noise that drives me nuts. Bring on the puppet monsters and animals any day!
dude- dora makes me want to claw my ears out. Princesses, I can stand in small doses- like 20 min or less. I love Mulan- though
I am pretty sure I'm the only person alive that dislikes Charlie Brown. I hate it b/c everyone is so horrible to Charlie Brown for no good reason! I mean, come on-he got a rock for every single house for trick-or-treating? That's awful! And on Christmas he tried his hardest to get a tree for the play and everyone-like 10 cast members-all dug into him in public and told him what a failure he was?? I'm surprised the guy hasn't committed suicide! What's entertaining about watching a kid be an outcast and get bullied?
The one kid show that I dislike is SpongeBob! He's obnoxious, farts too much, says the dumbest things and well, he's a total dork to me, LOL!
I love the Muppets and Fragile Rock though. I always wondered what it would be like to live like one those fuzzy and loud creatures ;)
Vanessa
I feel the same way about Gumby and Oompa Loompas! Scary!
@April- I never liked Charlie Brown either. I felt like by watching some of it I was encouraging the bullying. Yes, I am strange, I know.
@Vanessa We have never watched spongebob. I hope to keep it that way
@lauren Gumby just confuses me. I never have seen anything other than the general character. I thought Oompa Loopmas were supposed to be scary?
