Little Dude is in this awkward in-between stage. Preemie clothes are too small but newborn clothes are too big. This is a problem that we share, maternity too big--- regular too small.
He is doing fantastically otherwise, he is sleeping a ton and nurses like a champ. I cannot imagine our family without him already. He is a great addition.

You probably don't wand to spend extra money but I've found Gymboree to be really good in sizes. They run smaller than other brands so they can fit your little guy earlier. They have a 5-9lb size that would probably fit him great! Libby was 6lbs when she came home and the "just born" size (I think?) fit her excellent when all other newborn and 0-3 she swam in.
i have had the opposite experience there- for older kids, in Carters for example, stinky is in 5s in Gymboree he is in size 3 (for waist).
